Slam Dunk. Big Deal. How Long did that Take?

When we see an NBA star crush a slam dunk we are amazed.  We jump to our feet and cheer. We recognize the dunk as an amazing feat…We don’t point out that it only took a fraction of a second. When people see a simple, elegant design they often remark “how long did that take?” It’s true.  I can replicate the Apple or Nike logo in a few minutes.  Of course, those example are slam dunks. Simple, clean, elegant design is not labor intensive to replicate, but it’s not simple to create.  

How Long Did it Take

We bill by the hour, so our clients know how long it takes.  Design is a process.  We don’t just throw together one solution and hope it’s perfect.  We research, create options, refine, revise, and perfect our design to meet our clients’ needs. Also…As designers, we’ve spent years honing our skills.  Consider the years of education, practice, learning software, focusing on design, and dedicating our lives to design.  Just as the basketball player spends countless hours playing, practicing, drilling, and studying to play the game on a high level…it takes years.
